In the agreements we carry out regular visits to monitor for pests. Different monitor points are used to check for different species of pests.

In the picture a large external box is shown that is used to monitor for rats. It is normally placed in yard areas. In this case it is getting placed internally in a store area that is poorly proofed and has holes that could let rats in. The customer is in the process of getting the holes fixed now they have been alerted to the problem.

The tray of small triangular blue baits is a tray used for internal tamper resistant boxes used for mice. These will be placed around the shop to ensure no part of the site is missed.

Cockroaches in a Hotel

A call out for cockroaches in a Wirral hotel.

Cockroaches had been seen crawling throughout the hotel. Some even in guest rooms.

One of the most successful ways of treating for cockroaches is by using bait. The bait is consumed by the cockroaches but takes time to act on the insect to kill it.

It travels back to its harbourage point with all the other cockroaches. This is where the poison takes effect. The cockroach dies and is quickly is consumed by its voracious allies.

This leads to a snowball effect with the next cockroaches dying and then being eaten and so on.

The picture shows cockroach bait stations being filled with insecticidal bait.

Large Rat Irby

This large rat was killed after a treatment in Irby, Wirral. It had been gaining access to the roof space via a hole chewed under a roof tile.

It had been feeding from a neighbours bird feeder. The neighbour had watched with horror as it chased birds away from the food and then ran up a wall and in to the roof space next door.

Once the home owner was aware of there visitor they acted quickly in calling us to deal with it. A 2 visit control treatment quickly dealt with the problem.

Squirrel Up a Chimney

Loud bangs signalled the arrival of this unwanted guest. A squirrel had managed to fall down a chimney and was stuck behind the fire place.

Using the inspection camera we identified it was a squirrel (photo bomb!!!).

We used old sheets to cover the carpet and created a tunnel out of kitchen chairs to funnel it to the French windows and to its freedom.

As soon as the fireplace was removed the squirrel ran towards the fresh air. Once it was out the chimney was capped so no more animals could find there way in to the house.
